The course develops skills for business occupations. Emphasis is upon career opportunities in business. COmmunication skilsss, human relations, employment applications, general employability, and core business skills. Basic understandings of business principles and practices are developed.
Computer App. -008                                    1  Semester      1  Credit      Grade 10-12
Computer application is a two-semester course designed to assist students in mastering the touch method of key stroking (typing), apply computer skills in formatting and prodicing letters, tables, reports, and outlines. Emphasis is placed on development of speed and accuracy. Composition at the keyboard is introduced.
Keyboarding Applications -005                   1  Semester      1  Credit      Grade 10-12
Keyboarding applications is a one semester course designed to apply keyboarding skills in formattign and producing various documents on microcomputers using basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database dunctions. Students will learn to apply proper grammar skills such as word division, capitalization, and punctuation when creating personal and business documents. Students will also be required to define numerous business and computer terms, the basic components of a microcomputer system, and the purpose and function of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software. Operating systems/environments will be introduced and students will perform several tasks using DOS and Windows. Keyboarding speed and accuracy are faciliated through the use of tutorial software. College credit may be received for this course.
